including geology, mine engineering, metallurgy, private equity and mining finance.

Peter Ruxton
Co-Founder & Chairman
Peter Ruxton trained as a geologist at the University of Leeds, UK, where he obtained a B.Sc. in Geological Sciences and a Ph.D. in Economic Geology. Peter spent 15 years in the Australasian mining industry – Billiton & Ross Mining – before returning to the UK to obtain an M.B.A. from the Universities of Manchester and Bangor. Peter joined the mining investment team at CDC in 2000 and transitioned into Actis in 2004, becoming a Partner in 2006. Peter co-founded Tembo Capital along with David Street and John Hodder.

David Street
Co-Founder & CEO
David Street read Economics at the University of Cambridge obtaining an M.A. (Hons.). David joined NM Rothschild & Sons in 1991 and had a 15 year career in natural resource banking with Rothschild and Société Générale, culminating in David becoming a Director of NM Rothschild & Sons Limited and Head of Mining and Metals in 2003. David financed numerous mines globally during that period. Subsequently, David spent five years as Managing Director of Endeavour Financial where he worked on financial advisory mandates for mining companies as well as working with Endeavour Mining, a mid-tier gold mining company, on its merger and acquisition activities, mainly in West Africa. David co-founded Tembo Capital along with Peter Ruxton and John Hodder.

John Hodder
Co-Founder & Managing Director, Australia
John Hodder is a geologist by background with a B.Sc. majoring in Geology and a B. Com. majoring in Finance from the University of Queensland. John spent ten years in the mining and oil and gas industries – LASMO, City Resources & CONOCO (UK) – before completing an M.Sc. in Finance from London Business School. John established the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) mining, oil and gas investment department in 1995 and was responsible for its activities for eight years. He joined Suncorp and Solaris in Australia as a fund manager focusing on the resources sector between 2006 and 2011, managing a natural resource portfolio of ~AUD$1.25bn. John co-founded Tembo Capital along with David Street and Peter Ruxton.

Mark Palmer
Partner
Mark Palmer has a B.Sc. in Mining Geology from University College Cardiff and spent 12 years working in Australia, including 8 years with Dominion Mining. In 1994, Mark joined NM Rothschild & Sons Limited in the London mining finance team assessing mines and projects globally. In 1997, he moved to the investment banking team at UBS to focus on global mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing in the mining sector. Mark ran the EMEA mining team at UBS for 8 years. In 2014, Mark joined Canaccord Genuity as Vice Chairman responsible for mining sector coverage. Mark joined Tembo Capital in 2015.

Craig Foggo
Investment Director
Craig Foggo has over 12 years’ experience in mining, working in both operations and finance. Craig’s field experience has included business development and study consulting roles in Singapore and the Philippines as well as assignments optimising and commissioning nickel beneficiation plants at both the Mt Keith (BHP Billiton) and Savannah mine (Panoramic Resources) in Western Australia. More recently Craig worked as a mining analyst with London stockbroking firm RFC Ambrian and natural resources private equity fund manager, CD Capital. He has a B.Sc. in Extractive Metallurgy and B.Com in Accounting & Finance from Murdoch University in Western Australia. Craig joined Tembo Capital in 2014.

Tim Dudley
Partner
Tim Dudley is a mining engineer and spent seven years in operations with Anglo American and Peabody Mining Services in Australia. He moved to the UK in 2006, working as a mining analyst initially at Arbuthnot Securities and then Collins Stewart (now Canaccord Genuity), leaving as Head of Mining Research in London. Tim has a B.Eng. in Mining (Hons.) from the University of Queensland, a Masters in Professional Accounting from the University of Southern Queensland and completed an Anglo American Management Development Program at the University of Stellenbosch Business School. Tim joined Tembo Capital in 2014.

Paul Siveyer
Chief Financial Officer
Paul Siveyer has 30 years of experience in financial operations and management in the Investment Banking and Alternative Investment sectors including overseeing fund administration, financial and regulatory matters. Additionally, Paul has worked in the mining sector as Chief Financial Officer for Alufer Mining Limited. Previously, he has acted as Chief Financial Officer for Sirius Investment Management and Cross Asset Management, prior to which he worked at Bankers Trust and JP Morgan. Paul holds a B.Sc. in Economics & Accountancy (Hons) from City University, London. Paul joined Tembo Capital in 2014.

Carl Noack
Investment Director
Carl is a mining engineer by background with strong experience as a senior investment professional. His unique set of skills were established through investment, corporate and technical roles covering over 17 years in the industry. Most recently Carl was Senior Natural Resources Analyst at the Duet Group and Vice President – Investments at Altus Capital. From 2006 to 2011, he was Business Development Manager at Avocet Mining PLC responsible for the company’s non-organic growth strategy. Carl’s operational and engineering experience includes projects in Africa, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. He has a B.Eng. in Mining (Hons. First Class) from the University of Queensland and a GC.Com (Finance and Accounting) from Charles Sturt University. Carl joined Tembo Capital in 2017.

Niyazi Bayramov
Financial Controller
Niyazi has over 10 years of experience in accounting and fund administration. Prior to Tembo, Niyazi worked at Augentius Fund Administration in charge of several private equity and real estate funds, and before that at a UK-based chartered accountancy firm. Niyazi holds B.Ec from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy and is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Niyazi Bayramov joined Tembo as Financial Controller in 2017.
